A stunning location at the edge of the lagoon in the small fishing village of Oualidia makes La Sultana Oualidia luxurious seclusion at its best. The result of two years of painstaking work by skilled craftsmen, this newly-opened spa hotel is located in an area favoured by wealthy Moroccans – Mohamed V had built a palace opposed to the lagoon entrance – for its beautiful surroundings and nature reserve qualities with flamingos and oyster beds. The hotel was completed in May 2007 and combines a traditional Kasbah style with nice thatched roofing that gives a tropical feel. The Sultana's most remarkable feature is the infinity pool surrounded by lovely loungers and double beds.

Each guest room overlooks the lagoon and many feature their own private terrace with a sea water jacuzzi. A plasma screen satellite TV, home cinema, CD player, internet access add a sense of modern luxury whilst tadelakt and marble bathrooms, fireplaces, antiques, paintings and art pieces give a natural elegance. As dining goes, La Sultana Oualidia, located on the Atlantic coast, is a gourmet's paradise. Fresh local seafood includes oysters, lobsters and spider crabs all served to perfection in one of two restaurants, La Lagune, on the private beach, and Les Voiles Blanches, a more gourmet offering in a thatched hut overlooking the lagoon with reasonably priced menus starting at 350 dirhams. For ultimate relaxation, you can wander down to the private beach, or sink into five sea water jacuzzis situated around the swimming pool. The spa area has fitness area as well as indoor ionised and heated pool, hammams etc. where you can enjoy all kinds of massage treatments.

La Sultana Oualidia is located about a twenty minute walk from Oualidia, a typical Moroccan fishing village with a picturesque marketplace. El Jadida, a former Portuguese fortress town, lies 75 kilometres to the north and has one of the country’s finest golf courses, Royal El Jadida. Other local attractions include Sidi Bouzid cliffs, the Bedouza cape lighthouse and Boulaouane Castle and vineyards. If you’re into sports, you’ll find quad riding, sea kayaking, and a surfing centre all nearby.
